*Larval, nymphal and adult forms of the Australian Paralysis Tick (Ixodes holocyclus) are the most common cause of tick-associated allergic reactions and transmission of tick-borne infectious diseases in Australia. The adult form is also the cause of tick poisoning (tick paralysis) in animals, especially pets, and occasionally in children.
